We got into
the LCBO!!
On July 2, 2021 we received news from the Ontario liquor authority, the LCBO, that we had been rejected from their shelves. As a small spirit startup, this was devastating news for us, especially considering how many of you wanted to show your love and support for the brand in Ontario.
We didn't want to take no for an answer, and apparently neither did you because 8hrs after we posted our petition video on Tiktok, more than 800 of you sent in our pre-written email to overturn their decision... and it WORKED!!
Together we literally made history... Wow. The internet is amazing, and so are you - Thank YOU 💗
Here's how it happened
So many of you have shown your support for our tiny brand on TikTok and Instagram - We can't thank you enough. Please enjoy the images below that showcase how your actions made a huge impact for a small Canadian business, and created an unbelievable story.
It started with our rejection letter...

It was just around this time that our comments started to get filled with *1000s* of requests to purchase Prose on TikTok. We called a few mentors to tell them the good news, to which one replied: "Great! But comments aren't customers to the LCBO...". So in response we figured out a way to make it easy for you guys to have your voice heard by the LCBO category managers.
Some of you even received emails from the LCBO saying they didn't not plan on stocking Prose at all, but little did they know what was on the way...
About 8hrs after posting our call to action video, while we were on a TikTok live, we got this text from our agent...

The LCBO overturning their rejection of Prose based on a show of support mobilized by TikTok has never been done before. Everyone that sent an email during this campaign has not only helped create unbelievable precedence, but given us the fuel we needed to expand multiple provinces and countries. So thank YOU - thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in Prose. We couldn't have done it without you.

Ontario, see you soon!! 😘
Cheers,
Mike
